It’s an exaggeration, but you get the point. Education suffers immensely when the government focuses on other needs. But . . . maybe not so anymore.

Recently bipartisan efforts presented to the House of Representatives an initiative to reduce K-12 education cuts by $90 million. Ready to be surprised? There was no opposition. It was like the effort asked for a few payday loans and came out with money! Now, yes, when you’re looking at a $90 million cut, it doesn’t seem so impressive; but add the number $338 million to the drastic cut in education, and you can bet thatany decrease would help out.

The bipartisan act also pulls out a nice $22.5 million from the state education fund and adds it to the Public School Fund while also utilizing Colorado tax revenue overages for an extra $67.5 million, adding up to $90 million in funds increase. Basically this money would go to rural communities, special needs programs, and other supplementals to help solidify and optimize the field of education and better give quality care to our children.

It shows a new day, obviously. But America still has a long way to go. Hopefully one day soon there won’t be any cuts to the educational system. That would usher in a new era.
